007JL Know Your Limits: Money and Time Caps Before a Session
Know your limits by deciding three numbers before you open a session: a gambling budget in pesos, a session limit in minutes, and a win limit at which you stop.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| 007JL Sugal | Sugal is the Tagalog word for gambling: any play where you risk money on an outcome you do not control. |
| 007JL Crisis Hotline Philippines | Two kinds of line take a call about gambling distress: the National Center for Mental Health crisis hotline, which a Department of Health regional page prints as 0917 899 8726, 0966 351 4518 and 0908 639 2672, and the help centres PAGCOR accredits. |
| 007JL Gamblers Anonymous Philippines | Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship for people who think they may have a gambling problem. |
| 007JL Compulsive Gambling | Mayo Clinic describes compulsive gambling, also called gambling disorder, as the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes. |
| 007JL Why Gambling Is Addictive | Mayo Clinic says gambling can stimulate the brain's reward system much like drugs or alcohol. |
| 007JL Gambling Blocker | A gambling blocker puts a barrier between you and gambling sites. |
| 007JL Near Miss Effect | The near miss effect is the pull of a spin that stops one symbol short of a win. |
Know your limits before the first spin, not after the third bad one. A limit set while you are calm holds; a limit invented while you are chasing a loss moves every time you look at it. This page gives you three numbers to set, a routine for each session, and a plan for the moment a limit is reached.
PAGCOR’s responsible gaming page puts the same idea in four reminders: gambling is not a source of income, set time limits for each gambling session, never borrow money or use all of your resources for gambling, and do not chase your losses. Everything below turns those four lines into steps you can run on your own phone. This site says 21+: if you are under 21, you do not play.
Know your limits: the three numbers to set
Every session needs a money number, a time number and a stopping-on-a-win number. Write all three before you log in, in a notes app or on paper, where you will see them again.
| Limit | What it caps | Unit | Set it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gambling budget | What you can lose across a week or month | Pesos | Once, after your bills |
| Session limit | How long one sitting lasts | Minutes | Before each session |
| Win limit | The balance at which you stop and leave | Pesos | Before each session |
The three work as a set. The budget decides the size of a session, the session limit decides its length, and the win limit decides when a good run ends. Drop any one and the other two leak.
Gambling budget
A gambling budget is money you could lose without touching rent, food, load, school fees or savings. Start from your income, subtract every bill, and give entertainment a fixed slice. Gambling is paid for out of that slice and nothing else.
Keep the budget in a single place. If you play from a GCash or Maya wallet, move only the budget amount into the wallet for the period, so the wallet balance itself becomes the cap. Never top up from a second source mid-session; a second top-up is the clearest sign a limit has been passed.
Session limit
A session limit is a number of minutes. Set a phone alarm for it before you open the lobby, and when it rings, finish the round in progress and leave. Slot rounds are quick, so an hour passes without a clock in view. The alarm is your clock.
Pair it with a pre-set stake for the sitting, taken from the week’s share of the budget. Time and money limits catch different problems, because a long session of small stakes and a short session of big stakes both break a plan.
Win limit
A win limit is the balance at which you stop. If a session starts with ₱500 and your win limit is double, you leave at ₱1,000, cash out what is above the starting stake, and keep the rest of the day for something else. Most players set a loss limit and forget the other side; a win limit stops a lead from being fed back to the games one spin at a time.
The loss limit meaning in plain words is the mirror number: the amount you are willing to lose in a session. Your session’s starting balance is already your loss limit, so the win limit is the only extra number to decide.
Three worked examples in pesos
Round numbers make the routine concrete. These are examples to copy the method from, not suggestions of an amount; your figures come from your own bills.
| Monthly income | Bills and savings | Entertainment slice | Weekly share (4 weeks) | Win limit at double |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ₱15,000 | ₱14,000 | ₱1,000 | ₱250 | ₱500 balance |
| ₱25,000 | ₱23,000 | ₱2,000 | ₱500 | ₱1,000 balance |
| ₱40,000 | ₱37,500 | ₱2,500 | ₱625 | ₱1,250 balance |
The arithmetic is plain: slice divided by four weeks gives the weekly share, and the win limit is twice that share. If the week’s share is gone on Tuesday, the week is over. Nothing carries forward from the next week’s share either, because borrowing from the future is how a budget becomes a debt.
Players who like the maths can read the house edge meaning explained simply first. A game’s edge works over many rounds, so no stake size makes the long run kinder; the only part you control is how much goes in.
What to do when a limit is reached
A limit is reached the moment the clock, the balance or the win number hits. The plan has to be shorter than the urge, so keep it to four steps.
- Finish the round in progress. Do not start another one, and do not raise the stake for the last go.
- Cash out whatever is above the session’s starting balance, then log out.
- Close the lobby tab and leave the room or the screen for ten minutes. Drink water, walk, message someone.
- Write one line: the limit reached, the balance, how you felt. Next session you read it before you set the new numbers.
Reaching a limit is the system working. The temptation to “just one more” is exactly the situation the limit exists for, and the near miss effect on slots explains why a spin that almost wins keeps pulling at that moment.
If you reached the limit and played on anyway, do not set a bigger one to feel better. Go back to the original numbers, take a longer break, and read the next section.
Review your own spending on the lobby
You can check what you actually spent instead of trusting memory. The 007JL lobby’s transaction record shows 30 days, and your game history sits under Record ng Pagtaya in the side menu. Read both at the end of the week and set them against the weekly share.
| Where | What it shows | Use it to |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction record | Your deposits and withdrawals for the last 30 days | Add up deposits and compare with the weekly share |
| Record ng Pagtaya | Your game history | See how long and how often you played |
| Customer Service chat | A live chat in a new browser tab | Ask which account controls exist and read the answer |
The Customer Service entry in the side menu opens the live chat. If deposits exceed the plan two weeks in a row, that is the signal to reduce the budget slice, not to find a bigger one. The 007JL casino lobby and its menus page walks through where each of these sits.
When your limits keep slipping
Passing your own limits once is a bad night. Passing them again and again is a pattern, and patterns have a next step. Start with how you read the signs.
PAGCOR’s responsible gaming page lists warning signs of problem gambling: spending or betting more than you meant to, gambling for longer than you planned, and trying again and again to win back what you lost. It also lists debt, missed bills, borrowing and selling belongings. Mayo Clinic describes compulsive gambling as the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes. Read compulsive gambling signs worth knowing for the full list and why gambling is addictive, explained plainly for the mechanics behind it.
Then pick the next step that fits:
- Block the temptation at the source with a gambling blocker on your phone.
- Talk to people who have been there: read Gamblers Anonymous Philippines and how meetings work, then join one, online if you prefer.
- Call a line when the distress is bigger than the budget: see which crisis hotline Philippines callers can ring.
- Use PAGCOR’s own exclusion programme. PAGCOR lists self-exclusion periods of 6 months, 1 year and 5 years, and says the first six months is irrevocable. That is PAGCOR’s programme and its page describes how to apply.
If you can say “I cannot stop” out loud, that is enough to start with step 2 or 3 today.
Everything in this cluster
These pages each answer one question and sit behind this one. The rules around play are on the responsible gaming policy page.

FAQ
How do I know my limits before I play?
Start from your bills, not from the games. Pay rent, food, load and savings first, then pick an entertainment amount you could lose without changing anything else. That amount is your gambling budget; the session limit and the win limit are carved out of it.
What is a good session limit?
The one you can keep. PAGCOR's own reminders say to set time limits for each gambling session, and a fixed number of minutes with an alarm is the simplest way to do it. Thirty to sixty minutes is a common starting block, and you can shorten it, never lengthen it mid-session.
What is a win limit and why set one?
A win limit is the balance at which you stop and leave. It protects the win from the next hour of play. Set it before you start, for example at double the session's starting balance, and treat reaching it the same as hitting a loss limit.
Does 007JL have deposit or loss limit tools?
Open the Customer Service chat from the side menu and ask which account controls exist, then read the answer on the screen. Whatever the chat says, your own written limits work without any tool.
What do I do if I keep passing my limits?
Treat it as information, not failure. Read the pages on compulsive gambling and on Gamblers Anonymous, and look at PAGCOR's self-exclusion programme. You can also talk to someone you trust before the next session.
